The offspring of Lutjanus sebae are possible. Unfortunately, the number of offspring is not large enough to cover the demand of the trade. If you are interested in Lutjanus sebae, please ask your dealer for offspring. If you already own Lutjanus sebae, try breeding yourself. This will help to improve the availability of offspring in the trade and to conserve natural stocks.
This very large snapper is really only suitable for large scale aquariums. It's very tough but due to it's size of up to 40" it'll grow out of nearly each home aquarium. May reach an age of 35 years. Lives in depth of 15 - 600 feet.
