Info

Wallace, Phongsuwan & Muir, 2012

Very special thanks for the first photo of Acropora sirikitiae to Dr. Paul Muir, the acting curator for corals at the Museum of Tropical Queensland (MTQ),

This species was found at Huyong Island, Surin Islands and Similan Island, Andaman Sea, Thailand and was named in honor of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, Queen Regent of Thailand.

Acanthaster planci is praying upon Arcopora species and environmental pollution and rising water temperatures threaten these corals.
