Captive breeding / propagation

The offspring of Acropora pichoni are possible. Unfortunately, the number of offspring is not large enough to cover the demand of the trade. If you are interested in Acropora pichoni, please ask your dealer for offspring. If you already own Acropora pichoni, try breeding yourself. This will help to improve the availability of offspring in the trade and to conserve natural stocks.

Husbandry

Wallace, 1999

Colonies may be up to one metre across and consist of wide flat horizontal branches. These may be very broad and laterally fused to form a perforated plate. Radial corallites are scattered over the upper surface and are mostly absent from the undersurface.

Colour: Tan, usually with pale branch ends.

Habitat: Protected reef slopes below 30 metres.

Abundance: May be locally common.
