Acropora pruinosa
(Brook, 1893)

Characters: Colonies branch irregularly forming small compact thickets. Branches are typically contorted. Axial corallites are elongate and tubular. Radial corallites are strongly appressed and short except towards branch ends where they become elongate.

Colour: There are two colour morphs, greenish and brown.

Habitat: Rocky foreshores in shallow turbid water.

Abundance: Locally common in mainland Japan.

Similar species: Acropora proximalis , Acropora tumida
