Characters: Colonies consist of interlocking horizontal branches 9-11 millimetres thick, forming solid or nearly solid plates. Branchlets are short and thick. Axial corallites are hardly distinguishable. Radial corallites are crowded, cup-shaped and form rosettes.
Colour: Brown or greenish-brown.
Habitat: Shallow rocky foreshores exposed to wave action.
Abundance: Rare.
