Info

Gymnothorax angusticeps is a light brown moray with dark lines in folds on the body and dorsal fin.
The large moray inhabits rocky reefs off the coasts of Costa Rica (Central America) to Peru (South America).

The animal has a very large head large, which alone accounts for about 16% of the total length of the moray.

The English name °Wrinkled moray° can be translated as "wrinkled moray", the skin of the body is very wrinkled, the wrinkles extend to the dorsal fin of the moray.

Synonym: Priodonophis angusticeps Hildebrand & Barton, 1949

Jumping guard
A jumping guard prevents (nocturnal) fish from jumping out.
Wrasses, blennies, hawkfishs and gobies jump out of an unprotected tank in fright if their night rest is disturbed, unfortunately these jumpers are found dried up in the morning on carpets, glass edges or later behind the tank.

A small night light also helps, as it provides the fish with a means of orientation in the dark!
