Captive breeding / propagation

The offspring of Hippocampus comes x barbouri are possible. Unfortunately, the number of offspring is not large enough to cover the demand of the trade. If you are interested in Hippocampus comes x barbouri, please ask your dealer for offspring. If you already own Hippocampus comes x barbouri, try breeding yourself. This will help to improve the availability of offspring in the trade and to conserve natural stocks.

Feeding intake.
The fish take a long time to eat at the beginning, before the food is taken up, a close inspection is carried out. After acclimatisation, the offered frozen food is eaten without problems. It should be noted that wild-caught fish behave differently than offspring when it comes to food intake. In the case of offspring, the size of the fish purchased also plays a role in the choice of food.
