Triopha maculata MacFarland, 1905
The background colour is very variable and can be pale and translucent yellow, a darker yellow, orange, red or dark brown. The name "maculata" refers to the spotted whitish, light blue or blue spots on the mantle.This species usually grows to a length of 5,0 cm, but it can grow as large as 15-18,0 cm.
Triopha maculata feeds on moss animals (encrusting bryozoans)of the genus Membranipora.
