Husbandry

(Valenciennes, 1830)

Adults are frequently found in coral areas, while the young prefer vegetated (e.g. Thalassia), sandy bottoms.
They feed mainly on mollusks, worms, brittle stars, hermit crabs, crabs and sea urchins.

Calamus calamus porgy is evidently still considered to be a "goatfish". Shouldn't it follow Acanthopagrus l. and join the members of its real family?

Fehler im Namen: Grossaugen-Meerbarbe?
Da es sich um eine Meerbrasse handelt, wäre Grossaugen-Meerbrasse wohl zutreffender.

In EOL und Fishbase ist leider keine deutsche Bezeichnung hinterlegt.
