Info

Leptogorgia chilensis (Verrill, 1868)
Leptogorgia chilensis belongs to the zooxanthellate, colonial species among the gorgonians.

It is usually found on rocky bottoms at a depth of 15-60 meters below the kelp forests along the coast of California.
Neosimnia barbarensis, a small snail species, and the epibiontic crust anemone Parazoanthus lucifucum are often found living in and on this gorgonian.

This gorgonian is a food specialist and cannot be kept in a warm tropical aquarium due to the water temperatures of 10°C to a maximum of 20°C required.
