Ambassis macracanthus live in the coastal sea, brackish and fresh water in the region of the Indian Ocean and the western tropical Pacific.
Ambassis macracanthus are rather small fish, some types of glass perch, however, can reach up to 26 centimeters in length. They have a high back, laterally compressed body. Ambassis macracanthus partially transparent so you can see bones and internal organs.
Some species are kept in aquariums, so occasionally Ambassis macracanthus in large schools. They are considered vulnerable wards that accept only live food and are very frightened. Some species were also cultivated. The smallness of the larvae, however, make rearing almost impossible.
