In their natural environment Discosoma are found on all reef-substrates, whether smooth stone or reef-structur, they find her place. If not they go on "pilgrimage"!
The type shown here was submitted for determination and identified as Discosoma punctatus. It occurs mainly in the Indo-Pacific, but were already traded in the United States from the eastern Pacific.
With adequate lighting, a "supplementary" feeding is not necessary, they feed almost exclusively on the activity of their symbiotic algae, zooxanthellae.
