Polycera odhneri Er. Marcus, 1955
The type locality for the description of Polycera odhneri is São Paulo (Brazil).
Polycera odhneri has been found on various species of algae on reef flats, as well as on boulders, on drifting Sargassum, under stones and on bryozoans (e.g. Zoobotryon verticillatum).
Description: Body elongate, moderately high at mid-body, sloping gently towards the front and rear and tapering into a slender, pointed tail. Mantle margin reduced to a low ridge along each side of the dorsum.
Ground colour light to dark brown or black; larger specimens are usually darker. Dorsum, flanks, rhinophores, frontal appendages, upper side of the tail and gill leaves bear white and orange/red spots. There are also a few scattered yellow dots.
The egg mass is a spirally coiled ribbon containing small eggs and can reach up to 33 mm in length.
