Captive breeding / propagation

The offspring of Acanthastrea brevis are possible. Unfortunately, the number of offspring is not large enough to cover the demand of the trade. If you are interested in Acanthastrea brevis, please ask your dealer for offspring. If you already own Acanthastrea brevis, try breeding yourself. This will help to improve the availability of offspring in the trade and to conserve natural stocks.

Husbandry

From Veron, J.E.N. Corals of the World

Infos form AIMS:
Characters: Colonies are mostly submassive. Corallites are cerioid to subplocoid with moderately thin walls. Septa are thin and widely spaced. Larger septa have very long upwardly projecting teeth giving colonies a spiny appearance. Colonies are usually not fleshy.

Husbandry know-how of owners
