Diadumene neozelanica Carlgren, 1924
The Striped Anemone is about as wide as high. They get their common name from the light and dark brown vertical stripes on the anemone’s stalk. There are many tentacles, these are quite long and fine, and can be whitish-beige to orange-brown in colour.
They are usually seen at low and below low tide, so they’re not often seen fully extended.
Endemic to New Zealand.
Similar to Mimetridium cryptum.
Synonymised names:
Diadumene neozeelandica
Diadumene neozelandica
Diadumene novaezelandicus
