Doto maculata (Montagu, 1804)

Doto maculata is a tiny, inconspicuous Doto, with 4 to 5 pairs of cerata. The ceratal tubercles are rather elongate and have terminal maroon-red spots. The body is white with sparse mottling of red pigment.

Doto maculata feeds on the hydroid Halopteris catharina.

Similar is Doto coronata (lack of red pigment).
