Antiopella capensis Bergh, 1907
Antiopella capensis , commonly known as Cape silvertip nudibranch is probably endemic to South Africa.
This sea slug feeds exclusively on moss animals (Menipea triseriata and Chlorella bushii). Antiopella capensis can be found in rocky reefs,intertidal border to at least 40m.
Similar is Janolus longidentatus, but differ by numerous anatomical differences and the shape of the eggmass. Antiopella capensis lays a convoluted and globular egg mass with only 5-7 eggs per capsule.The egg mass of Janolus longidentatus is a flat spiral with only 5-7 eggs per capsule.
