Diplodontias miliaris (Gray, 1847)

Diplodontias miliaris is orange or cherry red in colour, the undersite is cream.

This se star have two glassy spines under each jaw (10 spines per animal). The shape of the animal is variable. Diplodontias miliaris is a deepwater sea star (100 m depht).

Diplodontias miliaris is a scavenger.
