Euprotomus bulla (Röding, 1798)

Relevant from the family Sombidae for aquaristics are Strombus and Lambis.

They can be differentiated very well, as Strombus has no spikes on its housing while Lambis has. According to literature, they need sand and algae.

Ich halte dieses Tier wegen einer Algen Plage denn strombus bulla frisst Kieselalgen.
Ausserdem frisst die Schnecke auch Borstenwürmer.sie ist am Tag ein wenig faul aber in der Nacht fängt sie an zu putzen!

Diese Schnecke sollte unbedingt in einem Becken mit hohem Bodengrund (DSB) gehalten werden!
Sie ist sehr haltbar, zeigt sich allerdings nur in der Nacht. Ist in der Lage kleine Sprünge zu vollziehen um sich schnell zu bewegen.
Das Tier "äußert" sich in der Nacht häufig durch stundenlanges "klick-klick-klick" weil es mit dem Gehäuse gegen die Scheibe klackert (um dort Algen ab zu weiden).
Nur in eingefahrenen Becken halten!
