Info

Capellinia doriae (Trinchese, 1874)

This species was described from Genova, Italy. Capellinia doriae has also been reported in error from the Atlantic coast of France and the coasts of Great Britain and Ireland but these records refer to a closely related species, Capellinia fustifera.

The body is translucent white, with scattered brown or green pigment on the back and cerata. The cerata have 2-3 rows of tubercles.

Capellinia doriae feeds on hydroids, especially Kirchenpaueria pinnata.

Synonymised names:
Eubranchus doriae (Trinchese, 1874)
Tergipes doriae (Trinchese, 1874) (synonym)
