Toxotes jaculatrix belongs to the family of the archer fish (Toxotidae). The perch-like fish is about 20 cm long and up to twelve years old. It is native to the tropical coastal brackish water areas of the Red Sea to India, China, Thailand, the Philippines and Australia.
