Glaucostegus halavi (Forsskål, 1775)

Biology:
Inhabits sandy and muddy bottoms, from the intertidal zone to about 100 m. Sometimes near rocky reefs. Slow swimming over bottom or partially buried. Feeds on benthic invertebrates and fishes.

Ovoviviparous, one litter per year, from May to October, with up to 10 embryos.

Can be confused with *Rhinobatos rhinobatos*, but unlike that species, *Glaucostegus halavi* has relatively small eyes.
