Caliacis nutans is a fairly common gorgonian in the specified areas of occurrence, although not all occurrences of the species are known.
Caliacis nutans forms a loosely branched shape with widely ramified, forked branches and long, upward bending ramifications.

The coral is not available in the German specialized trade.
