Apata sp. (MacFarland, 1966)
The pictured Apata cf. pricei is an undescribed species that until recently was lumped together with the Apata pricei, which occurs in the same habitat. After a discussion by the experts at the end of 2023, they came to the following conclusion:
The “southern” filamentous snail is Apata pricei, and the “northern” form (without the reddish bands on the cerata) is Apata cf. pricei.
The Eastern Pacific filamentous snail is a food specialist that feeds on hydrozoan polyps.
