Calcarinidae

Foraminifera are commonly called as forams.They have shells that are commonly made of calcium carbonate. Forams are usually less than 1 mm sized,but there are much larger species (largest reaching up to 20 cm).

The calcarinids symbiont-bearing larger foraminifera.
