Sadayoshia acroporae Baba, 1972
Sadayoshia is a genus of jumping crabs with currently 14 scientifically described species. Jumping crabs are mostly small crabs that, with their oval shell and the abdomen curved under the shell, resemble a mixture of crabs and lobsters, which is what the English term “squat lobster” refers to. They are always longer than they are wide and only walk with three pairs of legs, not four like crabs. Many tropical jumping crabs live closely with other organisms, such as sponges, invertebrates and corals.
Type locality for describing Sadayoshia acroporae is Kabira, Ishigaki-jima, Ryukyus Ishigaki-jima of the Ryukyus, subtidal. The size of 0.4 cm refers to the tank length. The species name "acropora" refers to corals of the genus Acropora.
