Info

Ogcocephalus pantostictus is a demersal species that feeds predominantly on a variety of benthic invertebrates, especially gastropods, polychaete and xanthid crustaceans (Callinectes similis), and occasionally small fish.

Habitat: Mainly soft bottoms

Food: The blue crab or dwarf crab (Callinectes similis) seems to be one of its absolute delicacies.

The species name "pantostictus" means "spotted", in reference to the animal's distinctive, overlapping spotted color pattern.
