Info

Tower snail Turritella maculata has a thin, semi-translucent or opaque, pointed shell.
Color: Purplish-white with brown mottling and stripes enclosing brown lines.

There is also a pure white variety, unnecessarily named "var. chionia".

The tower snail lives in / on sandy soils.
