Mauritia arabica asiatica is a subspecies of Mauritia arabica.
The snail feeds herbivorously on algae and preys on organisms that have no means of self-motion and are normally immobile.

As the name of the cowrie indicates, the snail is restricted to Asian and Indonesian waters.
