Excellichlamys spectabilis (Reeve, 1853)
This beauty Spectacular Scallop is a small white pecten with dots of brown, red and black:closely related to Excellichlamys histrionica (Gmelin, 1791). This species has 1-3 more or less defined secondary ribs with scales between the primary ribs. Can be found attached by its byssus to the undersides of coral slabs or among coral rubble on sand or muddy sand on lagoon pinnacles and interisland reefs.
