Salmacina tribranchiata (Moore, 1923)

Salmacina is a genus of marine polychaete worms in the family Sabellidae. "Sea Frost" are a tangle of tiny white tubes, tiny crowns of radioles barely visible at tube's head.

Salmacina tribranchiata - Mass of very delicate fragile white calcareous tubes, each only 1-2 mm diameter; branchial crown bright red.

Similar species: other local serpulids have calcareous tubes, but are much larger in diameter.
