Chrysoblephus gibbiceps is a cold water sea bream.This uncommon, exclusive and very expensive fish is endemic to the South African south and east coasts. Silvery pinkin colour with 5 -7 vertical red bars on the sides and irregular blackspots over the body.Very steep forhead wich develop in a bump in older males.
The Red stumpnose seabream have powerful molars used to crush food items (redbait, sea urchin, octopus and crab).
