Goniistius francisi is a finger finned fish endemic to Australia, the Norfork Islands and New Caledonia which, despite its size of up to 50 cm, tends to specialize in smaller zooplankton such as mysis and krill.
The shape of this fish can be described as “humpbacked” with black and white, diagonal bars, with the rearmost black bar being the largest.
Goniistius francisi prefers to live in coral reefs and rocky reefs.
