Pachycheles rudis Stimpson, 1859

Pachycheles rudis are often found in male-female pairs in holes.This species is commonly known as Thickclaw Porcelain Crab has thick chelae of unequal size . Colour is dull brown, often mottled with gray.

This porcelain crab is sometimes parasitized by the bopyrid isopod Aporobopyrus muguensis (reduces fecundity by about 50%).

Porcellanid crabs are filter feeders.
