Info

Pachyrhynchia cuppressina Lamouroux, 1816

Pachyrhynchia cuppressina is a colonial hydrozoan and only occurs in shallow water in coastal areas of 1-2 m and 10 m, but is still found at greater depths. The color of the small, unbranched, even fronds is yellowish to brownish (has zooxanthellae). These colonial hydrozoans often occur en masse on rocks, sponges and algae.

The small nudibranch Doto ussi lives on this nettle fern, feeds on it and also lays its spawn here.
