Urticina crassicornis (O.F. Mueller, 1776)

Urticina crassicornis, better known as the painted anemone or Christmas anemone, is a beautiful sight to behold in the intertidal zones of the Pacific Coast. It is common in the intertidal areas from the coasts of California all the way to the coasts of Alaska. Urticina crassicornis are up to 6 -10 cm high with a tentacular crown up to 10 cm diameter.
